Understanding Pallet Grades
Not all pallets are created equal. Understanding the difference between Grade A and Grade B pallets helps you make the right purchasing decision.
Grade A Pallets
- Like-new condition
- No broken boards or protruding nails
- Clean appearance
- Full structural integrity
- Best for: Shipping to customers, retail display, export
Grade B Pallets
- Good structural condition
- May have minor cosmetic wear
- Some boards may show slight discoloration
- Fully functional
- Best for: Internal warehouse use, storage, manufacturing
Pricing
Grade A pallets typically cost 20-40% more than Grade B. For many applications, Grade B pallets are the smarter economic choice.
How to Choose
Ask yourself:
- Will customers see the pallet? → Grade A
- Is it for internal use only? → Grade B
- Is it for export? → Grade A (or heat-treated)
- Budget-conscious? → Grade B
